1) The next GPMC General Membership meeting will be Saturday, March 31st, 2007 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at the Mesa Public Library (Main Branch) in the Saguaro Room. The address is 64 E. 1st Street in Mesa (northwest corner of 1st Street & Centennial Way). We will be recruiting volunteers for our ballot status petition drive, as well as building support for the Mesa Greens local. To reserve your seat, call (602) 417-0213 or e-mail

2) “Tia Sunflower” Needs You! We are looking for volunteers to assist with our ballot status petition drive for the 2008 elections. We need to collect 30,000 signatures by the March 2008 deadline. So far, we have about 1000 signatures, so only 29,000 more to go! We are looking for at least 100 volunteers to collect 1-2 petitions per week (15-30 signatures). Circulators and signers of the petition need to be registered Arizona voters. There are plenty of opportunities and locations to collect signatures. We usually petition in teams of two or more folks, so don’t be shy! To volunteer, call Richard Scott at (480) 990-8531 or Angel Torres at (602) 305-7496. a) Phoenix Public Market—every Saturday, 8am to 1pm, downtown Phoenix (Central & McKinley)

c) Park & Swap—every Saturday, Phoenix Greyhound Park (40th Street & Washington)
d) St. Patrick’s Day Parade/Fair—Saturday, March 17th, downtown Phoenix, Margaret Hance Park (3rd Street & Moreland)
e) Flogging Molly concerts—Saturday & Sunday, March 17th-18th, Mesa Amphitheatre (3rd Street & Centennial Way)
f) Tres Rios Nature & Earth Festival, March 17-18, B&M Wildlife Area (near Phoenix International Raceway/PIR), Avondale
g) Phoenix Antique Market, March 17-18, Arizona State Fairgrounds, 19th Avenue & McDowell Road

4) Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) community meeting: Friday, March 16th at 7:00pm at the League of Women Voters (LWV) office (AIPER building). The address is 2510 S. Rural Road, Tempe. Guest speaker will be Tony Solgard of FairVote Minnesota. Come hear about the recent victories for Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) and RCV in Minneapolis (MN), Oakland & Davis (CA), and Pierce County (WA), and how we can make it happen here in Arizona! 5) The next meeting of the Mesa Greens local will be Tuesday, March 20th at 8pm at Bookman’s Bookstore (1056 S. Country Club Drive—northwest corner of Country Club & Southern).
